Father pleads guilty to felony child abuse

A man who was originally convicted in 2001 of abusing his own month-old son in 1999 was back in Superior Court through appeals and entered guilty pleas to two felony counts of child abuse Friday. Brian Christopher Schooling, 26, was initially arrested on attempted murder charges by the Humboldt County Sheriff's Department in March of 1999 after his son was treated for burns, a skull fracture, broken legs, a broken collarbone and broken ribs.
